Frequently Asked Questions

What are your hours of operation?

Our hours are Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 6:00pm Saturday we are open from 9:00am until 1:00pm.

What do I do in the case of an emergency if your veterinary clinic isn’t open?

Call our local Emergency Veterinary hospital with a staff veterinarian present during nights and weekends.

Why should I spay or neuter my pet?

There are long term health benefits to your pet when they are spayed or neutered. The primary benefit is controlling the pet population and reducing the numbers of unplanned and unwanted pets. Spay and neuter procedures are major surgery for your pet.The procedure requires general anesthesia and is performed at our clinic.

Do I need to start doing things differently now that my pet is older?

Yes. Your pet ages more rapidly than a human. Depending on your pet’s breed it can be considered geriatric between ages four to seven. As your pet ages, diet, exercise, and routine care is very important for their health.

Does my pet need an examination every year?

Yes. Providing preventative health care for your pet is very important. Annual exams, and twice yearly exams for older pets, will help to detect problems early so they can be managed before they become serious and potentially shorten your pet’s life.

Does my pet really need their teeth cleaned regularly?

The tartar and staining on your pet’s teeth contains bacteria and left untreated, it can cause premature periodontal disease, heart disease, liver disease, and kidney failure. Dental care is important for a long, healthy life for your pet.
